Redundancias singulares

REDUNDANCIAS SINGULARES es un proyecto de videoperformance que se realiza durante el Máster de Producción Artística Interdisciplinar en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Málaga 2016-17. Posteriormente se exhibe en la Exposición colectiva INT´17 de Proyectos Máster de Producción Artística, en el Centro Cultural María Victoria Atencia (MVA) y comisariada por Carmen Osuna.

SINGULAR REDUNDANCIES is a video performance project created during the 2016-17 Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Artistic Production at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Málaga. It was subsequently exhibited in the INT'17 collective exhibition of Master's Projects in Artistic Production, at the María Victoria Atencia Cultural Center (MVA), curated by Carmen Osuna.

El proyecto

Redundancias Singulares es un proyecto que transita entre lo íntimo y lo social, entre la unidad y la multiplicidad de identidades, entre la disincronía y la autorreferencialidad. La proliferación en la imitación de estereotipos hiperindividualistas, bajo el manto del totalitarismo simbólico al que estamos siendo sometidos, se ha convertido en una semántica autónoma que da sentido al resto de nuestro mundo. Bajo esta dinámica, todos los contenidos de la vida son materializados, convertidos en signo y ofrecidos como mercancía. La intermediación física en el mundo de hoy cada día se hace más innecesaria. Hemos acabado con las distancias, con los trayectos. Nos hemos abrazado a la instantaneidad, a lo inmediato, a la premura. El mundo de las telecomunicaciones ha modificado nuestra forma de relacionarnos. La hiperconectividad, los medios de comunicación de masas, internet y el móvil han hecho posible que se supere la barrera física de la presencia, pero se ha incrementado el uso y consumo de la imagen propia y el individualismo se ha establecido como elemento vertebrador en las relaciones humanas. Esta nueva retórica de la imagen ha cambiado nuestra percepción del espacio, del tiempo y de nosotros mismos; el tiempo queda reducido al ahora o la nada. Todo, incluida la propia existencia, se experimenta o percibe como efímero y fugaz. Esta nueva e incómoda percepción es el impreciso objeto de estudio de este trabajo.

The Project

Singular Redundancies is a project that transits between the intimate and the social, between the unity and the multiplicity of identities, between dyssynchrony and self-referentiality. The proliferation of imitations of hyper-individualistic stereotypes, under the cloak of symbolic totalitarianism to which we are being subjected, has become an autonomous semantics that gives meaning to the rest of our world. Under this dynamic, all the contents of life are materialized, converted into signs, and offered as commodities. Physical intermediation in today's world is becoming increasingly unnecessary. We have done away with distances, with journeys. We have embraced instantaneity, immediacy, and haste. The world of telecommunications has changed the way we relate to one another. Hyperconnectivity, mass media, the internet, and mobile phones have made it possible to overcome the physical barrier of presence, but the use and consumption of one's own image has increased, and individualism has become established as a structuring element in human relationships. This new rhetoric of image has changed our perception of space, time, and ourselves; time is reduced to the now or nothing. Everything, including existence itself, is experienced or perceived as ephemeral and fleeting. This new and uncomfortable perception is the imprecise object of study in this work.
